The Geographical area known today as Anambra State of Nigeria came into being along with eight others on August 27, 1991. The capital is Awka, but it has Onitsha, Nnewi as its major commercial capitals. The Onitsha main market is reputed to be the largest of its kind in West African sub-region.

One of the special characteristics of Anambra State is the immense resourcefulness of its people who carry on a most animated business and other transactions with people who come across them.

It is the recognition of the importance of usefulness of the Trade Fair and Exhibitions towards the growth of business and economic development that necessitated the coming together of the three city chambers in Anambra State viz; AWKACCIMA, NCCIMA, and ONICCIMA towards organizing Anambra Trade Fair with the support of the Anambra State Government. This coming together for a common purpose is in line with Igbo Spirit of togetherness (i.e Igwebuike).

The maiden edition of the Anambra Trade Fair which held in year 2016 was a huge success as it attracted participants across divers business and industrial sectors both within the country and beyond. The success recorded in the maiden edition spured the organizers to do more since the Trade Fair has been slated to be an annual event.

The year's THEME: "PROMOTING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT THROUGH MANUFACTURING, TRADE AND AGRICULTURE"; perfectly hinges on the Federal Government's Economic Policy of "Backward Integration" and Import Substitution" while focusing real hard on Chief Dr. Willie Obiano's Administration / Economic Policy through her 4 Kay Economic Pillars & Enablers (Industry, Agriculture Trade & Commerce, and lastly Oil & Gas); with inverably coincdes with the Chambers foundermaintal mandate. The event has been slatted to hold @ Chuba Ikpeazu Sports Stadium, Onitsha
Anambra State, Nigeria
from 26th November -11 December 2018. It is worthy to note that competent and experienced members of the Trade Fair Planning Committee, staffs and contractors of the AACCIMA are ever willing to assist participants at the Fair by provining up-to-date business information and attening promptly to enquiries from exhibitors and visitors to the Fair.

Anambra Trade Fair enjoyed wide publicity in both electronic and print media throughout its duration (before and even after); thereby presenting a unique opportunity for Exhibitors to advertise their products, services, inventions and innovations to both Nigerians and Foreign audience. The Fair with of course, is supported by the Government of Anambra State shall be well attended by numerous Government agencies seeking new ideas, inventions and innovations necessary for the attainment of the objectives for which they were setup.
